imageSophomore Lauren Stotler has just been elected by her colleagues as the new student body president for the 2015-2016 school year. Stotler is part of the Housley Principled Leadership Program which has helped her develop her leadership skills in preparation for her upcoming role.

She is an accounting and finance double major in the McCoy College of Business Administration which encouraged her to gain leadership roles in the organizations she is involved in. Stotler is currently involved in Student Foundation, Gamma Phi Beta sorority and is the Chief of Staff for Student Government. Her passion is to help others gain school pride and find their niche on campus. She is a huge advocate of getting students involved in organizations and extracurricular activities.

She is currently working on legislation for a program that will match student’s personalities and hobbies to the organizations that best align with their interests. She hopes to make this program a part of the university seminar class that all freshman students are required to take. Her vision is that utilizing the program will increase the retention rate while raising school spirit. She knows that change is a good thing and she believes these changes will benefit the university greatly.

Congratulations Lauren! We cannot wait to see the changes you will enact on campus!

“I found my passion, now I want to help others find theirs.”
