Samantha Blondell

Founded in 1978 by the Dean of Students, Student Foundation was created to collect the most impressive student leaders at Texas State and involve them as ambassadors on campus, in the community, and for alumni.

To recognize the service and leadership of the members of Student Foundation, we award five scholarships each year to the most dynamic individuals in the organization. Thanks to the support of an amazing Student Foundation alumni network, we were proud to increase the payout of these awards from $1,000 to $2,000 this year. The worthy young leaders that receive these scholarships give tirelessly of themselves to enhance the Texas State experience for all students.

One very deserving recipient of this award isSamantha Blondell. A recent graduate with a degree in respiratory care, Samantha has been heavily involved as a PACE Peer Mentor, MLK Program Student Coordinator, and as the Student Foundation director of membership. She is also highly committed to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Samantha credits her family for instilling values strong in her from a young age:

“I came from a West Indian family that moved to the states shortly before I was born. My parents taught me respect, accountability, and love. My brother really instilled in me the mantra of “staying focused”. My family made me who I am today.”

Congratulations Samantha! We’re excited to see what you accomplish next!
