Housley is Expanding!

15 Jan

UntitledThe Stelos Alliance has offered the Housley Principled Leadership Program for the last four years at Texas State University. The course provides student leaders personal and professional development through a curriculum centered on self-awareness and reflection.

After working with over 100 extraordinary student leaders at Texas state, this semester we are proud to expand the program to two new universities: Trinity University and Angelo State University.

To handle the growth of the Housley Tribe, we’ve built a new website (housleyprogram.org) and expanded our seven week co-curricular course to a sixteen week, for-credit class. We’re rolling out new content, facilitating new discussions and are excited about the new opportunity to make more stars shine brighter.

It is our mission to identify extraordinary students and support them with scholarship dollars and leadership training so they can continue their development and benefit their schools and communities.

The expansion also matters to students who have been through the Texas State Housley program. Karlton Wilson, a Housley alum and current Stelos Fellow, said, “Housley provided me with a unique opportunity to understand my leadership abilities and figure out what makes me come alive. I know this program will change the lives of many students at Trinity and Angelo – just like it changed mine.”

You can read about the Housley offering at Trinity University here. You can also keep up with the conversation by following us on Facebook and Twitter (using the #housley hashtag). If you are interested in joining us for a class at any of our campuses or interested in bringing Housley to your university – let us know!
