Virginia Moore Chi Omega Scholarship

4 Mar

The Alpha Zeta chapter of Chi Omega at Texas State University-San Marcos has grown exponentially since its colonization in 1964. This 173 member strong chapter constantly promotes their strong ties to sisterhood and to service – none of which would be possible if it wasn’t for Virginia Moore, the first Chi Omega in San Marcos, Texas. The story behind the Alpha Zeta chapter is Virginia’s legacy; the first formal pledging of the colonized Idyllics took place in her living room only after she made sure she had the best women in San Marcos to call her sisters.

In 2011, Stelos Alliance created the Virginia Moore Chi Omega Scholarship as a way to honor the beloved Chi Omega founder, advisor and friend.

Virginia Moore’s dedication to service, loyalty to her sisters and her strong leadership skills laid the foundation for the Alpha Zeta chapter of Chi Omega to flourish as it does today. And it is these qualities that set the standard for the deserving young woman who receives this scholarship award.
