Taylor Dorn is a man of many trades – in our fall 2012 offering of the Housley Principled Leadership Program, he was our resident geologist, baseball fan, married man and a recipient of a Housley Principled Leadership Program Scholarship. Taylor was selected to receive one of three awards because of his demonstrated commitment to his own personal development and to the themes explored throughout the course.

This award and our Housley Principled Leadership Program are both ways we honor our dear friend, Kevin Housley. Kevin was a man who truly lived a life of meaning and served as a principled leader in his surrounding community. The program carries on Kevin’s legacy and the impact he had on the people he surrounded himself with. Kevin is remembered by many as “a shining example of involvement as a community leader, a husband, a father, and a son.”

Taylor said about the impact of the program: “The Housley program showed me I have plenty of knowledge and skills that I can bring to companies. Through the course, I also gained a new perspective on how to live a more meaningful life.”

Taylor is Geology major and the president of the Geology Club. He is also a senator in the Associated Student Government, where he serves as the committee chairman for academic enrichment. We’re proud of the work he’s done so far and are happy to count him as a member of the Stelos family.

Following graduation, Taylor would like to continue his geology work by joining the National Park Service as an environmental consultant. Eventually, he plans to return to school for a master’s degree.

Taylor Dorn is a Stelos Superstar.
